Frequently Asked Questions
We understand that things happen last minute, so we allow you to reschedule up to two times. However, we ask that you provide us with a 48-hour notification if you cannot attend. Failure to notify us will forfeit your deposit.
Currently we are only offering the State of CT Concealed Carry Permit class only.
You can take the class within 6 months of your 21st birthday, however you cannot apply until your 21. This is the federal minimum age to purchase handguns.
No!! You cannot bring your own firearms to the class, as you are not licensed to carry them. The instructor will provide all firearms and ammunition
Not at all! Our courses are designed for beginners. We cover everything from basic firearm safety to hands-on training at the range.
Please bring something to take notes with (notebook, ipad, laptop, etc), remainder of balance in cash, and a bagged lunch. We recommend wearing closed-toe shoes, comfortable clothing appropriate for indoor and outdoor range activity, and a baseball cap.
The class typically runs about 8 hours, including classroom instruction and live-fire range time. You’ll receive a certificate upon successful completion, which is needed to apply for your permit.
Yes, Connecticut state law requires all students to complete live-fire training with a certified instructor in order to qualify for the permit.
After completing the course, you’ll receive a certificate. You’ll then visit your local police department to begin the permit application process, which includes fingerprinting, background checks, and state forms. We walk you through this process during class.
